Sports Day 2014
We had a fantastic day out with all of our members bringing their friends and family along to join in the fun. YC&AC kindly gave us the use of a bouncing castle to entertain the smaller ones. The day started off with a soccer game between our friends the Kanto Celts and the Rest of World team made up of members of Japan GAA and their friends. Afterwards, a skills workshop for new members was held with Coach Kevin and Coach Ciarán. Following this we had three great games of GAA, two ladies matches and a mens match.
Tokyo's very own Australian Football Team the Tokyo Goannas came down to challenge the Japan GAA men for the Ned Kelly Cup in a game of comprimised rules. After a tense first quater, the lads settled down to secure victory over the course of the next three quarters to bring Ned home for another year. Thanks very much to Tokyo Goannas for coming down.
The day's sporting events finished off with a Poc Fáda (Long Puck) Hurling competitions before we moved proceedings to the bar for the evening.
